LightHouse Privacy Policy

Last updated: 12 September 2026

This policy covers the LightHouse mobile game and support correspondence about it. It does not describe cookies or other processing on our website, which may have its own notice. The availability of optional online features can vary between versions and platforms.

1Who we are

Halonen Games Oy is the publisher of LightHouse and the controller responsible for the personal information described in this policy.

2Playing and saving your progress

You do not need to create a player account to play LightHouse. The game stores progress, unfinished puzzles, scores, hints, beacons, game-mode records and settings on your device. Settings include your analytics choice and reminder preference. Any pending analytics deletion request is also remembered locally.

We use this local information to provide the game, save your choices and let you continue where you left off. We do not operate a cloud-save service for your game progress. Backups made by your phone or its operating system are governed by the backup provider's settings and policies.

The game does not ask for access to your contacts, photos, microphone, camera or precise GPS location.

3Optional gameplay analytics

Where gameplay analytics is available, we use Unity Analytics only after you choose to allow it. Its purpose is to understand game use and difficulty and improve LightHouse. You can play without allowing gameplay analytics.

Gameplay events include your game mode, route level, board size and difficulty; puzzle starts, resumes, exits, restarts and completions; active play time, mistakes, remaining lights and use of hints or beacons. A randomly generated puzzle-attempt identifier links events belonging to the same attempt. Our custom events do not contain your name, email address, puzzle seed or raw touch coordinates.

Unity Analytics also processes technical data, including IP addresses, installation and user identifiers, and applicable device identifiers such as Apple's identifier for vendor. Unity processes Analytics data on our behalf, subject to its documented roles and terms. See Unity's Analytics privacy information.

Our legal basis for optional gameplay analytics is consent. You may change your choice in Settings → Privacy & analytics. Withdrawing consent stops further optional gameplay collection and does not affect the lawfulness of earlier processing.

4Optional rewarded advertisements

Where rewarded advertisements are available, you can choose to watch a Unity Ads advertisement through Unity LevelPlay to receive three hints or one continue. We do not request an advertisement automatically when you launch the game. Declining an advertisement does not prevent ordinary play; the associated advertising reward is not granted.

Ad delivery can involve IP addresses, approximate location inferred from them, device and advertising identifiers where available, app and device information, and ad requests, impressions, interactions and reward events. Unity and its advertising partners use these to deliver and measure ads and address fraud and security. We receive ad-performance reporting.

LightHouse does not pass your gameplay-analytics permission as advertising consent. Our current ad configuration requests no consent-based personalization and sends a sale/sharing opt-out signal. This does not mean that ad delivery is anonymous or involves no personal information.

For our contextual-ad operation and fraud prevention, we rely on our legitimate interests in supporting and protecting the game, subject to applicable law; consent is required where applicable for access to device information or other processing. Choosing a reward is not a substitute for any legally required consent.

Unity's own advertising processing, partners, retention criteria and privacy controls are described in its Game Player and App User Privacy Policy. Your phone also provides advertising and tracking controls.

5Technical diagnostics

LightHouse uses Unity's built-in diagnostics to understand crashes, errors and software or hardware performance and improve stability. Diagnostic records can include technical failure and performance information and an installation-specific identifier. Unity processes this diagnostic data on our behalf.

Our basis is our legitimate interest in maintaining a stable and reliable game. Diagnostics is separate from optional gameplay analytics: switching off gameplay analytics does not switch off Unity's project-level diagnostic collection. For access, deletion or an objection concerning diagnostic data, contact us using the email above. See Unity's diagnostic privacy information.

6Local reminders

Reminders are optional and off by default. If you enable them in Settings and grant your phone's notification permission, the game schedules one local reminder after 24 hours away. A scheduled time between 22:00 and 06:00 is moved to 06:00. Your operating system controls actual delivery and can delay it.

Returning to the game or disabling reminders cancels the pending reminder. Reminders do not repeat daily while you remain away. This feature does not send your play schedule to us or use a remote push-notification service. You can turn it off in the game or revoke notification permission in your phone's settings.

7Purchases and support

The current version does not process real-money in-app purchases. Halonen Games Oy does not receive payment-card details through the game. We will update this policy before introducing a purchase service that changes our data practices.

If you email us, we receive your email address and the information and attachments you provide. We use these to respond, investigate problems and handle privacy requests. Our support mailbox uses Google's Gmail service; see Google's Privacy Policy.

We rely on our legitimate interest in responding to support correspondence and on applicable legal obligations when handling rights requests. Please send only information relevant to your request.

8Sharing and international processing

We share information with the service providers described above as needed for their functions. Unity may act as an independent controller for advertising purposes described in its own policy. Information may also be disclosed where legally required or necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. We do not publish your private support correspondence or sell your game-save files.

Unity, Google and their service providers may process information outside your country, including outside the European Economic Area. Where applicable, transfers use recognized safeguards such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses. Unity's arrangements are described in its Data Processing Addendum, and Google's in its privacy policy. Contact us for information about the safeguards relevant to your data.

9Retention

  • Local progress and settings: retained on your device until removed or replaced. Clearing app storage removes local game data; device backups may remain separately.
  • Gameplay analytics: Unity's default personal-data retention period is 13 months. You can request deletion earlier through the game.
  • Diagnostics: Unity's default personal-data retention period is 90 days.
  • Advertising data: retained by the relevant providers under their retention criteria, including service operation, fraud prevention and legal obligations, as described in Unity's privacy policy.
  • Support and rights requests: retained for as long as needed to resolve the matter, document its handling and meet applicable legal obligations or address legal claims. We do not retain correspondence indefinitely merely because you contacted us.

10Your rights and choices

Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your personal information and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where consent is the basis, you may withdraw it at any time. We do not use your information to make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects on you.

Use Settings → Privacy & analytics → Request analytics data deletion to request removal of Analytics data associated with your installation. This also turns optional analytics off. A request may wait for a network connection; its submission does not mean server-side deletion has already finished. It does not delete your local game progress, advertising records or diagnostic records.

For other requests, email halonengamesfin@gmail.com. We may need limited information to identify the relevant installation or correspondence and verify your request. We will explain what is needed and respond within the applicable legal time limit. You do not need to send passwords or payment-card details.

You may complain to your local data-protection authority. In Finland, this is the Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman.

11Children and teenagers

LightHouse is intended primarily for teenagers aged 13 and above and adults. It is not directed to children under 13. This audience description does not replace local rules governing a young person's consent to data processing.

If you believe a child has provided personal information without the permission required by applicable law, contact us. We will investigate and take appropriate steps, including deletion where required.

12Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when LightHouse or its data practices change. The date above identifies the latest revision. Where required, we will provide additional notice or obtain a new consent before the relevant processing starts.
